CAN YOU LISTEN
"Listening is one of the most challenging things to do in this day and age, especially as we get older. We tend to become set in our ways."
This message is personal—if you’re struggling with taking direction and listening to what you know to be true, it’s time to make a change. If you need to focus more, then focus more. If you need to do more, then do more. If your surroundings need to change, change them. It all sounds simple, right? That’s because it is. But the hardest part is actually doing it.
I firmly believe that if something or someone offends you, there’s probably some truth in it. Instead of reacting, take a deep breath or step back, and ask yourself, ‘Can I learn something from listening to this person?’
Most people want to take ownership of their lives rather than live by someone else's ideologies or rules. But the reality is that the path of life has been shaped over generations by individuals who listened, observed what was happening around them, and without hesitation, took action—implementing what they learned consistently into their daily lives.
Ask yourself, are those people good to you and are you good to them. Can you truly see yourself becoming all that you can become under their supervision and or having them as a friend and or an acquaintance. Do they motivate and inspire you when you are down, do they seem invested in your ideas. Do you feel like you can't talk about your dreams around them and or do you feel like you have to minimize your star power to satisfy their ego... I ask you again - Can you listen to that inner voice inside of you telling you to go for what you know and live out loud. I hope this helps you find your purpose and directs you to start living for you today.
Action Items to get you started.
*Get off social media for 30 days.
*Exercise for 30 days straight. Walk a mile a day at least - if you can do more - do more but start there. Walking a mile should only take you 15-22 minutes a day.
*Don't drink alcohol for 30 days straight.
* Work on eating better for 30 days but take it one day at a time. Here is an example of what I eat and it keeps me pretty lean and full.
Breakfast
Oatmeal with no sugar and 3 fruits each morning. I add Honey and ground cinnamon to give it taste.
Lunch
I eat fruit for lunch, Apples, Oranges, Bananas, Watermelon, Carrots - I also eat Peanut butter with my apples. I usually stick to a strict lunch diet, I do not like feeling heavy throughout the day.
Dinner
I eat salad with fish and or grilled chicken, I keep telling myself that I am going to get away from meat and strictly eat seafood but that is still not a thing for me.
I hope this helps you, I don't expect you to eat exactly what I eat but maybe this will help you create better eating habits! Remember the work is never done and there is always more to know and or do! Now go change the world!
